Isn’t it great to be able to go to God in prayer about anything, anytime, anywhere, anyhow?  I can’t tell you how many times, thanks to Jesus, I have accessed God this week in prayer.  It is so cool that God is locked in and engaged in every nano second of our life and then to top it off to be able to talk with him to heart to heart.

Sometimes we pray in scary times, like when someone is sick, hurt, going in for surgery, or emotionally exhausted.  These are the times when we realize things are out of our control (btw, they actually always are) and we say something like “only you God can redeem this.”  And we put our trust in him to redeem it.  It is a paradox.  As the children’s song says, “When we are weak, He is strong.”

Sometimes we pray when we are amazed.  This can happen anytime.  It happened to me this morning when I was walking Austin.  I just looked up and saw all the leaves on the trees turning colors.  And in joy I prayed, “only you God.  Thank you for the beauty you have given us to enjoy.”

Sometimes we pray when we need to get a lot of things done.  And with everything looming, deadlines to meet, projects to get done, we ask God for peace and clarity.  And he makes the delivery on time, every time.

As you know we pray in a lot of other situations as well.  It is such an honor and privilege to pray.  How is your prayer life?  I want to encourage us all to pray, for most of pray a little more than we are doing, for all us to pray in recognition of whom we are praying too.

Here is a little guide for our prayer life.  I’m not sure who came up with it but it is a pattern that I have used for a while.   It’s called the ACTS model of prayer.

A – adore God, think of his characteristics and praise him for them all!

C – confess all your sins and receive forgiveness!

T - thank God for all he is doing in your life and in the lives of others!

S- supplications.  These are our requests like those mentioned above.

I’m praying for you!  God’s blessings to you!
